Drawing from his extensive global travels & an unhealthy obsession with politics, award-winning comedian Danish Anwar’s material is often described as “smart”, “political” & “really, really funny”, sometimes without air quotes.

His credits include 2 CBC TV galas, multiple appearances The Debaters & Laugh Out Loud, JFL42 (Just For Laughs Toronto), Winnipeg Comedy Festival, and opening for internationally acclaimed comedians such as Gina Yashere, Aparna Nancherla and DeAnne Smith.

A successful producer with a reputation for trendsetting ideas, he’s also the founder of the wildly popular comedy battle show Your Hood’s A Joke, featured multiple times on Global TV, CTV, OMNI TV, Toronto Star, SiriusXM Canada, along with dozens of popular blogs and local publications.

He has produced comedy shows & fundraisers for organizations such as the Ontario NDP, International Fund for Animal Welfare, Native Women’s Resource Centre of Toronto & more.
